Where to find the Church of England’s texts for worship
The Book of Common Prayer
The electronic text of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer is gradually being made available on the Church of England’s website at www.cofe.anglican.org/worship/liturgy/bcp/ The texts of Morning and Evening Prayer have now been uploaded and others will follow in time.Mennwhile, an electronic version of the text of the BCP can be found by following the links at http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/england.htm
Common Worship
The liturgical texts from Common Worship are all published by Church House Publishing. The full range of Common Worship titles is available to purchase online.Liturgical texts from Common Worship are also available free of charge on the Church of England’s website at www.cofe.anglican.org/worship/liturgy/commonworship/texts/
The majority of Common Worship texts are now available online. Some of the more recently published material is still awaiting uploading in html format. However, the full texts of Common Worship: Christian Initiation and Common Worship: Times and Seasons are now available to download as pdf files at http://www.cofe.anglican.org/worship/liturgy/commonworship/resources/downloads/pdftexts.htmlFrom
The texts of ‘Rites on the Way: Approaching Baptism’ and ‘Rites of Affirmation: Appropriating Baptism’ from Common Worship: Christian Initiation may be accessed in the form in which they were presented to the General Synod* as GS 1546. This can be downloaded here: GS1546.doc* It needs to be understood that these texts are not the version which was finally commended by the House of Bishops. Consequently the texts available here must be checked and corrected against the version published in Common Worship: Christian Initiation.
Until such time as the uploading of the Times and Seasons material is made available in html format, the texts may be accessed in the form in which they were presented to the General Synod*, and may be downloaded here:
